Councillor Patricia Gómez visited the space, located next to Plaça Ramon Llull, where the Health Service has installed six vaccination lines.
More than 1,500 people can be vaccinated every day at the new COVID-19 vaccination point that the Balearic Islands Health Service has set up in Manacor to facilitate access to this free, universal and effective service for local residents.

This was explained by the Minister of Health and Consumer Affairs, Patricia Gómez, who today visited the facilities, located at Carrer Jaume Domenge, 23, next to Plaça Ramon Llull. Also taking part in the visit were the director-general of the Health Service, Juli Fuster; the coordinator of the COVID-19 vaccination centres, Toñi Ballesteros; and the mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver.
This new centre, which joins the Covid Exprés in Manacor, has six vaccination lines, with the capacity to administer more than 1,500 vaccines a day.
In the morning it is used for adult vaccinations and in the evening and at weekends for children’s vaccinations. The centre is open from 8:00 to 21:00 hours.
Councillor Gómez stressed the importance of bringing services closer to users and thus facilitating access to a resource to which everyone has a right and which is safe and effective in preventing serious forms of the disease.
For this reason, she encouraged those people who have not yet received any doses to take advantage of the proximity of this new vaccination point and also stressed that it is very important for the population to receive the booster dose.
“We cannot relax and we must continue with basic prevention measures, such as distance, masks, avoiding crowds and using this resource that science has put within our reach,” said Gómez.
In this sense, he reiterated that anyone over 18 years of age can now access BitCita to request an appointment for the reinforcement.
The conditions that must be met in order to receive the booster dose are to have received the full course of vaccination against COVID-19 and that at least five months have passed since the last dose in the case of Pfizer or Moderna, or three months in the case of Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) or Janssen. In addition, people who have passed the infection must wait four weeks before they can be vaccinated with the booster dose.
This space will be added to the vaccination centres currently available in Mallorca: Son Dureta and Espai Francesc Quetglas, in Palma; and the COVID Exprés in Inca and Manacor.
In addition, the vacubús will remain in Manacor until Saturday, 22nd January, inclusive.
