The Balearic Islands were widely represented at Fitur, being one of the most outstanding destinations. The institutional representatives have made clear their involvement with the most representative sector of the Balearic economy with an agenda full of meetings and presentations.

President Armengol announced at the beginning of the fair that the new tourism law for the Balearic Islands will lay the foundations for turning the archipelago into a circular destination and that it will involve significant improvements to the quality of work. As she explained, the new legislation “will help companies in the sector, which are already leaders in competitiveness, to also be leaders in two other areas: social and environmental”. The president indicated that, on the one hand, the law “values the workers in the sector, with measures such as the one that obliges the replacement of all beds with elevating beds”, and on the other hand, it seeks to improve “the relationship between tourism and the resident and the territory that welcomes this tourism”.
Another of the Balearic Islands’ institutions, led by President Cladera, was present on the first day of FITUR in Madrid, where it held a meeting with representatives of United Airlines.
