The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training reported this week that there are 610 teachers on sick leave in public schools in the Balearic Islands (433 in Mallorca, 37 in Menorca, 134 in Ibiza and 6 in Formentera). This figure represents 3.8% of the teaching staff in public schools (out of a total of 16,000).

On the other hand, according to data provided by the Consellería de Salud y Consumo, the accumulated positives in the last 7 days among the population aged 3 to 16 years account for a total of 4,555 (3,457 in Mallorca, 444 in Menorca, 613 in Ibiza and 41 in Formentera). This number represents 3.5% of the student body (out of a total of 129,884).

Finally, schools have reported a total of 96 groups in quarantine, of which 83 are in schools in Mallorca, 8 in Menorca, 4 in Ibiza and 1 in Formentera.
