The marketing of spirits with a geographical indication from the Balearic Islands (Palo de Mallorca, Gin de Mahón, Hierbas Ibicencas and Hierbas de Mallorca/Herbes de Mallorca) increased by 40% in 2021 compared to 2020. These figures are still below those recorded in 2019. It should be borne in mind that 2021 was a year with limitations, also in terms of capacity, and closures in the HORECA (hotel, catering and restaurant) sector, and also with fewer visits from tourists, consumers of these drinks, who also buy them to take back to their countries of origin.
