During the five nights of the Easter period, as well as during the Sant Joan festivities, the night-time surveillance service will cover the hours when IBANAT staff are not working in the camping areas. The tasks to be carried out will mainly consist of controlling the capacity of the areas and ensuring compliance with the regulations governing camping areas in terms of noise, nuisance and the use of fire.
The councillor for the Environment and Territorial Planning, Miquel Mir, called on citizens to take responsibility and reminded them “than enjoying a protected natural area entails collective responsibilities, which are to ensure that the footprint we leave behind is as small as possible”. Mir thanked the IBANAT staff for their work “to ensure that public use does not interfere with the conservation of the natural and heritage values of the areas”.
The three camping areas managed by the Institute are Sa Font Coberta (with 200 places), Es Pixarells (50 places) and Marjanor, with a further 200 places. It should be remembered that the use of fire unless otherwise indicated, is permitted, but it must be made in the designated fire pits. Likewise, tables for eating cannot be reserved and it should be borne in mind that those for people with reduced mobility can only be occupied if there are no people who need them.
