The 19 buoys will make it possible to control anchorages to protect the Posidonia meadow.
This week, Ports IB has carried out the installation of 19 buoys in the anchoring field of the Formentor meadow, as regulated by Decree 25/2018 on the conservation of Posidonia oceanica in the Balearic Islands.

The Formentor buoy mooring field is in addition to the other seven fields that were installed earlier this summer, all of them managed by Ports IB.
This weekend there will be a boat giving information to users, and from the middle of next week, bookings will start to be made. The conditions and prices will be the same as in the rest of the anchorages in meadows regulated by the Posidonia Decree, which can be consulted on the Ports IB website. From next week, all the buoy fields will also be equipped for payment exclusively by electronic means, both for the payment of bookings on the website and also for payments on site, in cases where the conditions of use, such as the Bathing Voucher, so provide.
Ports IB’s priority this year has been to set up the Formentor mooring field as soon as it has the relevant authorisation for its installation, which was granted this July, in order to be able to offer the service and, at the same time, control the mooring to protect the meadow.
After the season, it is planned to carry out the rest of the actions contemplated in the project, which include the removal of all the existing dead bodies that are not being used and the installation of anchorages with ecological anchors.
