Yesterday evening, Inca Town Hall inaugurated the exhibition “…de la cabeza …en mano” (from the head …in hand) by the Mallorcan artist Vicenç Palmer. This project, which has been installed at Sa Quartera Art Centre, is the result of a collaboration between the artist and a group of poets with the aim of showing the symbiosis that exists between different art forms, where one can inspire the other.

“…de la cabeza …en la mano” was conceived with the aim of travelling around the island, which is why we at the Inca Town Hall feel very honoured that this exhibition can make a stop in our municipality and host it in such an emblematic space as Sa Quartera Art Centre”, says the Councillor for Culture, Alice Weber.
The exhibition consists of a total of twenty-six pieces, including paintings and poems, which are the result of more than a year’s work. This joint work between painter and poets has contributed to increasing the dialogue between these two arts and has led to the appearance of new works created specifically for this exhibition. Each of the poets has created a poem inspired by a painting by Palmer, while Palmer has also created a painting inspired by a poem by each of the poets, who are Xisco Barceló, Javier Cànaves, Pere Joan Martorell, Jerònia Mesquida and Jaume Olivero.
Vicenç Palmer (Palma, 1955) is a self-taught artist. He has taken part in different competitions and contests, such as the Certamen de Artes Plásticas Jueves Bo de Inca, in which he has been selected as a finalist on four occasions (2009, 2014, 2016 and 2021). He has also taken part in different exhibitions and artistic interventions, both nationally and internationally.
