In their works, the finalists have established a dialogue with some of the town’s collectives in order to draw inspiration from particular and characteristic aspects of the municipality of Binissalem.

The jury, chaired by Tonina Cerdà, head of Public Programmes and Education at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, was made up of Eva Mulet, director of the Pelaires gallery; Raquel Moron, director of the Inundo’ART festival in Girona; Tiffaine Raguenet, artist and coordinator of the Agit’Hé Association of Perpignan, representing the Departmental Council of the Eastern Pyrenees, and Lluís Vidaña, winner of the Art Jove 2019 Visual Arts competition.

The tour of the works of the 7 finalists, with explanations by their creators, began at the Alba Torrens Municipal Sports Centre and, once finished, it was also possible to visit the exhibition of the finalists of the Art Pertot exchange programme. The 7 finalists, selected from a total of 40 entries, had two months to prepare their urban intervention project, with the theme Veïnatge, and received artistic and technical advice and a mentoring service provided by Leticia Maria, the curator of the competition, who accompanied and advised them during the creative process.

The other finalists were: David González Espejo/Dewiware (Palma, 1998) with “Balla i t’oblidaràs de la mort”; Maria Alba Plaza/Alba plaza (Palma, 1987) with “La teva empremta importa”, Helena Pons Sans (Palma, 1995) with ” Dits”, and Ana Velchev (Belgrade, 1990) with “1cos1 1 111 cos”.

The Art Pertot Programme is an initiative of the Departmental Council of the Eastern Pyrenees, the Inund’Art Festival of Girona, and the IBJOVE, through the Art Jove Cultural Programme. The winner of the first prize in this competition exhibits an artistic project in the framework of the Inund’Art Festival of Girona in June 2023 and in a group exhibition, together with the other two artists selected in Art Pertot, at the Maison de la Catalanité in Perpignan, in December 2023.

This Saturday evening, which was attended by the director of IBJOVE, Tià Lliteres, ended with concerts by the Mallorcan groups Alanaire and Go Cactus, winners of the 2021 and 2018 editions of the Art Jove Cultural Programme’s Young Music creation competition.
