The signing of the agreement was presided over by Virgilio Moreno, mayor of Inca, and the director of Caritas Mallorca, Esther Romero, and was attended by the councillor for Social Services, Maria Antònia Pons. “We are very happy to be able to renew this agreement for another year and to be able to continue working hand in hand with Cáritas, an organisation that perfectly develops the Inca soup kitchen project and offers a quality service to the people it serves,” said Pons.
Cáritas Diocesana de Mallorca opened the Comedor Social de Inca, located in Son Ordre street, in 1994. Currently, 130 homemade menus are prepared daily, with a first course, main course and dessert. The people who receive this aid can eat at the soup kitchen or take the prepared menu home. In addition, home deliveries are also made, in case the user is unable to travel.
In this sense, Mayor Moreno underlines the important social function that the soup kitchen performs in our city and the essential service it offers to the citizens of Inca. “For us it is very important to maintain this collaboration. A big thank you to Caritas and its volunteers for the great work they do in Inca.”
