Next weekend, Inca celebrates the traditional summer festivities of the Blanquer neighbourhood. The mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno; the councillor for Participation, Andreu Caballero; and the president of the Neighbourhood Association, Antoni Serra; along with other members of the council and the board of directors have presented the programme of activities for this celebration, after two years without being able to take place due to the COVID-19.

“Inca is a lively and very active municipality, thanks to initiatives like this one. The Neighbourhood Association, together with the Inca Town Council, has prepared these festivities with great care and dedication, so that everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, can take to the streets and participate in all the events,” says councillor Caballero.

Thus, the festivities in the Blanquer neighbourhood will begin on the 16th of September with the conference “The world of the peasantry. Yesterday, today and tomorrow”, by Gabriel Pieras Salom. During the event, homage will be paid to the Cooperativa Pagesa de Inca and the farmer Sebastià Campaner París, “Sebastià Peña”.

This first event is part of the 32nd Encounter of Painters and Painters of Inca, which runs until the 18th of September. The exhibition of the works will be held from the 21st to the 23rd of October, coinciding with the celebration of the fairs, as tradition dictates.

On the other hand, Friday has also scheduled the event “Tapes & Vins” with DJ Set, organized by Sa Galeria Can Marc. The events continue on Saturday with children’s activities in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, there will be a dance and line dancing event and the traditional open-air dinner. The evening will be enlivened by a performance by Los Barones.

Finally, on Sunday 18 September, there will be a bike ride for mobility, starting from the Plaça del Blanquer.
