The Consell de Mallorca will allocate 35,000 euros to Morocco through the Mallorcan Solidarity Fund

35,000 euros to Morocco through the Mallorcan Solidarity Fund

The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, has announced that the institution will allocate 35,000 euros to Morocco through the Mallorcan Solidarity and Cooperation Fund. He explained this after receiving in the audience this morning the Moroccan consul, Abdellah Bidoud, accompanied by the Minister of Presidency, Antoni Fuster, and the Minister of Social Welfare, Guillermo Sanchez.

Llorenç Galmés has expressed to the Moroccan consul the solidarity of the Consell de Mallorca with the Moroccan people after the earthquake that hit the country on September 8 and has expressed the maximum support of the insular institution and our community. Likewise, Galmés expressed his condolences for the 2,500 deaths caused by the natural disaster.

After the meeting, President Galmés read in the plenary of the Consell de Mallorca an institutional declaration, signed by all the groups, in support of the Moroccan people. Also, the plenary of the insular institution has kept a minute of silence in memory of the dead and injured in the presence of the Moroccan consul.
