The Misericòrdia living nativity scene returns

More than 130 people participated this Saturday in the Misericòrdia living nativity scene in solidarity. Hundreds of people have visited this recreation that the Consell de Mallorca has recovered after 10 years without being carried out. The Coro Pequeñitos del Teatro Principal added a musical note to the event with Christmas carols and Antònia Vallés performed the Sibil-la. This is the first of the activities that have been programmed for this Christmas in the Misericòrdia, and the Three Wise Men were also present.

This Saturday, the garden of the Misericòrdia cultural centre was the setting for this re-enactment by actors and some seventy citizens who signed up to take part. In total, more than 130 people took part in the living nativity scene and around fifty animals from Natura Parc, such as sheep, chickens and pigs.

Attendees were able to take a tour of the Misericòrdia gardens with different stalls. At the entrance there were artisans selling their products and a buñolera. Next, there were matanceres, sewers, Mallorcan food, fishermen and many shepherds. Finally, at the end of the route there was the nativity scene, with the baby Jesus, which received several visits: first, the Pequeñitos choir sang Christmas carols; then Antònia Vallés performed Sibil-la and, finally, the Three Wise Men, who passed by three times during the afternoon.

This was the first one, but it should be remembered that the Consell de Mallorca celebrates Christmas in La Misericòrdia with a programme of family and solidarity activities from the 16th to the 23rd of December. In addition, during these days, a collection of food and personal hygiene products is being held for the benefit of the Tardor Association.
