Health opens the vaccination campaign

The flu vaccination campaign has been opened for the population of the Balearic Islands from six months of age. Just make an appointment with the corresponding health centre by calling the Infosalut Connecta phone number (971 22 00 00) or through the app Cita Previa Govern

In October the flu vaccination campaign was opened for the target population; specifically 724,719 people in the Balearic Islands, with the following distribution: 578,740 in Mallorca, 54,669 in Menorca and 91,310 in Ibiza and Formentera.

So far, 39% of the target population over 60 years old, 5.7% of people between 5 and 59 years old and 13.4% of the target population under 5 years old have been vaccinated against influenza. It should be recalled that for children and adolescents between 2 and 17 years of age, the intranasal vaccine can be requested, without the need for injections.

The Health Service has already received 119,350 vaccines in Mallorca, 11,240 in Menorca, and 18,290 in Ibiza and Formentera.

With a budget of more than 3 million euros, the Regional Ministry of Health will distribute 266,800 doses of flu vaccines. Of these, 140,000 will be flu vaccines with adjuvant; 4,800 of high load for especially vulnerable elderly; 22,000 doses of intranasal vaccine for children between 2 years and 4 years and 11 months; and 100,000 doses of tetravalent vaccine.

The flu vaccination campaign has been carried out jointly for all at-risk groups with the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which has been financed by the European Union through the FEDER-REACT EU program.
