The Fundació Foment del Turisme de Menorca and Vueling have reached an agreement to maintain the connection with France.
The Fundación Fomento del Turismo de Menorca (FFTM) and Vueling have reached an agreement to maintain the winter route to Paris. In this way, the airline will operate direct connectivity between Menorca and France during the winter months. There will be a minimum number of flights and the system will be flexible, depending on demand. The minimum number of scheduled flights is 22, with the possibility of increasing to 28. Flights operated during the first quarter of 2024 will be available from today. Flights will be operated during January, February, March, November and December 2024.

Menorca will have a direct flight to Paris in the winter
The new proposal is part of Vueling’s co-marketing agreement with FFTM, which has been renegotiated to maintain the connection. On days when there is no direct connection, the stopover in Barcelona will be less than two hours. Vueling is the leading airline at Menorca airport with a market share of 25% all year round and 49% during the winter months. This winter it has increased frequencies to Barcelona, where it has its main hub, by 18% and offers around 100 connecting destinations.
“We have been working from day one to improve Menorca’s air connectivity, as our goals are to extend the tourist season and facilitate the mobility of Menorcans. From the very first moment we worked with Vueling to renegotiate the agreement that guarantees us the Menorca-Paris route, so that we can maintain the direct route this winter,” explained the president of the Consell Insular de Menorca, Adolfo Vilafranca, this Friday.
As for the connection with London, Vueling has reorganised the stopover times via the Barcelona hub, so that in the coming months, from 1 January, the connection time will be reduced to less than an hour and a half on the outward journey for 25 days a month. There will also be 16 days a month with a return flight to Menorca with a stopover of less than an hour and a half.
“We have made the journey to London as quickly as possible by reducing the stopover during the winter months in Barcelona. It is not a direct flight, and we will not stop until we achieve it again, but we believe it is a very good solution for this winter. We are working to improve Menorca. And the proof of this is today’s step, with the improvement of connectivity, which is one of the great challenges facing Menorca, and was one of the challenges we found on the table when we came into office,” Vilafranca said.
“Vueling’s objective is clear: to continue its commitment to Menorca. This commitment means that Vueling is the leading airline at Maó airport, and it is the airline that operates the most on the island. In 2023 we have increased frequencies with Barcelona airport by 18% which, together with the route to Bilbao and Paris, make up Vueling’s commitment to the deseasonalisation of Menorca and we are working to constantly improve connectivity in times of lower demand”, adds Sandra Hors, director of communication, institutional relations and sustainability at Vueling.
