Mallorca Railway Services (SFM) will offer special night services on December 24th and 31st, both for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, to enjoy comfortable and safe transport on these festive nights. This is the first time that SFM has scheduled special night services for Christmas Eve. In addition, services on Christmas Day (25 December) and 1 January will also be increased compared to previous years.
As for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, in both cases, trains will run throughout the early hours of the morning on the Palma-Sa Pobla and Palma-Manacor routes in both directions, with stops at all intermediate stations. On Christmas Eve, the first departure from Palma will be at 00:00 and the last at 04:00; from Manacor to Palma, two services have been set up, departing at 01:05 and 04:20; and from Sa Pobla to Palma, another two services, departing at 02:30 and 05:15.
On New Year’s Eve, the first service from Palma will depart at 00.50 am and the last one at 04.15 am; from Manacor to Palma, two services will depart at 02.15 am and 05.15 am; and the two services from Sa Pobla to Palma will depart at 02.50 am and 05.50 am.
On the other hand, this year there is an important new feature in the service, which is that on both Christmas Day (25 December) and 1 January, the service will offer practically the same service as on a public holiday, leaving behind the reduced timetable that has been in place for the last few years. Thus, whereas in previous years 16 trains were offered throughout the day, this year 49 trains have been scheduled out of the total of 65 provided on the regular public holiday service.
Likewise, as in previous years and to facilitate workers’ meetings with their families, on the 24th and 31st the regular daytime service will end earlier, although the special night timetables will be activated on the nights of the 24th and 31st. The last regular departure from Palma to Sa Pobla on the 24th and 31st will be at 6:40 pm, and in the opposite direction at 8:07 pm.
As for the Manacor line, the last departure from Palma will be at 8:10 pm and the return from Manacor at 8:24 pm. There is also a special Palma-Inca service on these two days, which will leave Palma at 7:40 pm and in the opposite direction at 8:35 pm.
On the 26th, the service will be the usual public holiday service.
