PortsIB will take part in the 40th anniversary of the Palma International Boat Show, which will be held from today until 28 April at the emblematic Moll Vell. Celebrating its presence since 2005, PortsIB returns to the show with its own stand designed to offer an interactive experience for visitors of all ages.
This year the show promises to be more special than ever, commemorating four decades of being a key event on the international yachting calendar and kicking off the Mediterranean sailing season. The opening, scheduled for this Thursday at 12 noon, will mark the start of a series of activities and exhibitions that capture the essence of the maritime world.
At the PortsIB stand, attendees will find activities designed especially for children, including the distribution of maritime-themed paintings and stencils for children to express their creativity. In addition, a fun virtual reality photocall will allow visitors to portray themselves as captains, superheroes of the sea or pirates and take home a photograph as a souvenir of their commitment to marine conservation.
This year’s Palma International Boat Show has reached a record number of participants with 295 exhibitors, surpassing last year’s figure. Despite maintaining the same surface area of 86,000 square metres, the organisers have optimised the space to allow for a greater diversity of nautical products. In addition, this year the exhibition will have 260 boats on the water, with the presence of large sailing boats, one of the main attractions of the fair, standing out.
The nautical sector continues to be a crucial pillar of the Balearic Islands’ economy, with 879 companies that generate more than 1,100 million euros in turnover and support more than 5,000 local jobs.
The Palma International Boat Show not only celebrates innovation and nautical tradition but also reinforces the Balearic Islands’ position as an undisputed leader in the global maritime sector. PortsIB invites professionals and enthusiasts to explore the latest developments in the sector and to take part in the festivities of this emblematic event.
