The Government penalises a private individual for obstructing environmental agents during an inspection for a waste infringement
Specifically, he was carrying out prohibited activities of commercialising construction and demolition waste in the municipality of Lloseta. During three inspections, the individual repeatedly obstructed the inspection activity of the environmental agents, refusing to identify himself and blocking the agents’ way.
In this regard, Diego Viu, director general of Circular Economy, Energy Transition and Climate Change, said: ‘This sanction can be exemplary and has an obvious purpose, and that is to vindicate the actions of environmental agents to preserve our heritage. But above all, it is a wake-up call, that our environmental agents are the authority and deserve respect. This has to be a wake-up call to all those who do not want to collaborate.
The facts, obstruction to the activity of surveillance, inspection and control, and non-compliance with the obligations of collaboration foreseen in article 106.3 have been considered serious and have led to a sanction of 30,000 euros.
