SOIB Employment Opportunities for Women, will have six million euros to help victims of gender violence

SOIB Employment Opportunities for Women 2025-2028’ combines prevention and assistance measures with employment measures to guarantee the reinforcement of the protection system for women who have suffered gender-based violence, as it is an employment and inclusion policy that has proven to be effective.

The aim of this call is to promote the economic independence and empowerment of the women who participate, while at the same time reinforcing the possibilities of a subsequent stable reintegration into the labour market. This is the fifth call for applications since the pilot programme ‘SOIB Dona’ was launched in 2018, which was an important milestone for women who have suffered from male violence in our autonomous community.

The consolidation of this plan represents a right for women who suffer the scourge of male violence. The Government of the Balearic Islands is extending this initiative, providing the means to accompany the group in the transition to normality. Therefore, this new call for applications demonstrates the will of the autonomous administration to offer support with real and effective measures, with continuity and economy of means.
Of the total authorised budget, two million euros will be allocated to each year (2025, 2026 and 2027). Specifically, this subsidy will be used to finance the total wage costs, including the company’s social security contributions, as well as the costs derived from complementary actions arising from the hiring of women victims of male violence who are hired by local entities and dependent or linked public law entities, public business entities and public sector foundations of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands (CAIB), non-profit entities and non-profit business and trade union associations.
It is worth highlighting the networking and collaboration of the organisations and institutions that have enabled the progress of this employment promotion programme and that have left its mark for its continuation.
