The Balearic Islands will be positioned as a sustainable destination at the World Travel Market Fair in London
The Regional Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, through the Tourism Strategy Agency (AETIB), has been in charge of coordinating the entire participation in this fair, an event where Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera will be represented on a stand of 493 m², which this year has seen its surface area increased in order to provide a better service to co-exhibitors, Island Councils and Town Councils, as well as to our tourism sector.
The stand is the same as the 2023 edition, with a design inspired by the Posidonia Oceanica, so characteristic of the Mediterranean, and with a firm commitment to sustainability, both in all its materials and in the construction process. The stand also aims to be a functional and useful space for all the trade fair activities taking place.
The Illes Balears stand at WTM will have its own stand with the island councils of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, as well as ten local councils (Alcúdia, Andratx, Calviá, Cala Millor, Capdepera, Felanitx, Llucmajor, Santanyí and Ses Salines) and six private co-exhibitors (Sidetours Incoming, Iberosports, Mytransfers, Mallorca Gruoups, Barceló Hotel Group and Ok Mobility).
With the aim of enabling the sector to hold work meetings at the fair in an organised manner, the AETIB has set up a table reservation system at the stand. This system has been previously communicated to the tourism companies so that they can use it to schedule their appointments.
On Monday 4 November in London, as a prelude to the WTM, the President of the Balearic Government and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport will inaugurate the first international exhibition ‘Board Inspiration. We are Miró’ by the students of Fine Arts-ADEMA in collaboration with students from the University of the Arts London-Chelsea College of Arts.
Presentations at the stand
In addition, during the days of the fair, various presentations will be held at the stand of the Balearic Islands. Specifically, on Tuesday 5 November, the presentations organised by the Government of the Balearic Islands will be concentrated.
At 11 a.m., a presentation to the British media will be given by the President of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, and the Balearic Islands Councillor for Tourism, Margalida Prohens.
