Conferences, an international congress and the premiere of a documentary on adolescent pornography: IBDONA’s events on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Conferences, an international congress and the premiere of a documentary film

The programme will kick off on 11 November at 18.30 with the conference ‘Trafficking and sexual exploitation, a reality of close and invisible violence’, given by Irene Conde Losa, a social worker from the Association for the Prevention, reinsertion and Care of prostituted women (APRAMP).

This year’s 5th inter-institutional coordination conference is entitled ‘The map of resources for the care of victims of gender-based violence in the Balearic Islands’. It will present the conclusions of the study ‘Prospecting and drawing up a map of resources and services for the care of women victims of gender-based violence’, carried out by IBDONA in the last quarter of 2023. It will therefore be a day of coordination between professionals from different areas and administrations susceptible to dealing with situations of gender violence.
From 20 to 22 November, the UIB will host the first international conference on social vulnerability and male violence, titled ‘Transitamos la incertidumbre. Theoretical and practical perspectives, a space for dialogue on the situations and processes experienced by women victims.
The event on the 25th will be institutional and a heartfelt tribute to this year’s victims. Finally, from 26 to 29 November, ‘Pornography. Access and impact on adolescence’ will be shown on each island. This documentary by Marta Hierro and Núria Abad (Mom Works) is based on the conclusions of the ‘Study on pornography in the Balearic Islands’, published last year by IBDONA. The film places young people at the centre of the situation, empowering them, and includes interventions by experts and families, with analyses of the legal framework and the social consequences, among others.
