Inca announces a new edition of the Pare Colom Literary Awards
‘The Pare Colom Awards were created, on the one hand, to extoll the figure of Father Colom, an illustrious poet and linguist of our letters; and, on the other hand, to promote Catalan culture and literature. Currently, these awards are very well positioned and are one of the best value in the whole country, explains the Councillor for Culture, Alice Weber.
The works aspiring to the Pare Colom 2025 Literary Awards must be written in Catalan and must be original and unpublished. Each author may enter a maximum of one work in each of the categories; the theme of the works is free.
The rules of the call for entries for these prizes establish a prize of 3,000 euros in the narrative category and a prize of 1,200 euros in the poetry, theatre and essay categories. The deadline for entries is Wednesday 1 May 2025 at 23:59. The works will be sent by e-mail to premisparecolom@incaciutat.com.
Finally, it should be noted that the winning works will be published by Leonard Muntaner, Editor, and will form part of the extensive collection that this publishing house dedicates to the prize. The verdict will be made public in the framework of a musical literary evening that will take place in the Cloister of Sant Domingo in Inca on Friday 18th July at 8 pm. Subsequently, on 21 October 2025 at 7 p.m., coinciding with the anniversary of Father Columbus, the presentation of the winning works will take place in the Cloister of Sant Domingo.
