Ports of the Balearic Islands (PortsIB) has opened the tender process for the occupation and operation of five lots of pontoons in the Port of Fornells, Menorca. This project aims to manage mooring places for pleasure boats (list 7) and charter boats (list 6), thus promoting nautical and tourist activity on the island.

The tender, published on 22 January 2025, contemplates an estimated contract value of 1,260,000 euros excluding taxes, with a base tender budget of 1,524,600 euros (VAT included). The contracts will last four years and will be awarded through an open and ordinary procedure, prioritising transparency and equal opportunities for all interested bidders.

Each lot corresponds to a pontoon designed to offer quality services to different types of boats, with capacities varying between 52 and 60 moorings per pontoon. In addition, the facilities include turrets for electricity and water supply, ensuring users’ comfort. Economic criteria such as mooring and supply rates will be assessed among the award requirements, as well as technical aspects related to the commitment to having premises and the promotion of electric, sailing and traditional boats.

The Port of Fornells is a strategic enclave in Menorca. With this tender, PortsIB seeks to improve the port infrastructure and ensure efficient and sustainable management that responds to the needs of local users and visitors.
