The agreement is a continuation of other actions aimed at reinforcing safety and promoting the use of the train with different groups.

Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Inca Town Council to allow all local police officers to travel free of charge on services managed by the railway administrator. To this end, they have been given non-nominative transport cards that can be used by all members of this body.

The mayor of Inca, Virgili Moreno, and the manager of SFM, José Ramón Orta, signed the collaboration agreement on Tuesday at the Town Hall, accompanied by the councillor for Public Safety, Antonia Triguero, and the head of the Inca Local Police, Miquel Llabrés.

SFM continues to reinforce transport safety with the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Inca Local Police

The main objective is that all the officers of the Inca Local Police can have easy access to train stations to facilitate possible interventions or carry out investigation and intelligence work, but also to promote the use of public rail transport among its members.

The measure is a continuation of other similar agreements already in place by SFM, such as the collaboration agreements signed last year with the Guardia Civil and the Marratxí Local Police, and previously with the National Police and the Sineu Local Police. Likewise, the intention is to follow the same steps with other local police forces in municipalities along the rail corridor.

Promoting the use of the train through actions with different collectives

On the other hand, SFM has opened the application for group tickets to new entities, such as leisure and free time associations or entities, the different groups of the Moviment Escolta i Guiatge de Mallorca, entities that work with people with functional diversity or the elderly, or other similar groups that wish to benefit from the advantages of this ticket.

It should be remembered that the group ticket must be requested from SFM in advance and following the established channels, and it is not necessary to have the Intermodal Card to use it for any member of the group that is going to travel. This type of ticket is widely used for excursions or outings by schools as, apart from the economic benefit if you do not having an Intermodal Card, it allows you to organise your journey with the advice of the railway company’s staff and speeds up access to and exit from stations for greater comfort and safety.
