The Inca Town Council, in collaboration with the council of Massanassa (Valencia), has deployed a contingent of the Inca Local Police to support the tasks following the DANA which, three months ago, caused devastating floods in various localities in the south and east of the peninsula.

Thus, from this week, a total of 16 officers of the Local Police of Inca, distributed in groups of four components, will move to the Valencian municipality, to collaborate in different essential tasks such as traffic regulation, preventive patrolling, security in risk areas, location and removal of damaged vehicles, as well as attention to the public.

‘At times like this, it is essential to continue to be close to the affected populations. Therefore, with this initiative the Local Police of Inca reaffirms its spirit of solidarity and brotherhood with other Local Police, moving voluntarily to Valencia to contribute to the recovery and reconstruction of an area severely affected by the tragedy,’ says Virgilio Moreno, mayor of Inca.

We would like to remind you that the DANA of 29 October 2024 had serious consequences in the Valencian Community, with a death toll of more than 200 people and the destruction of thousands of vehicles and homes. For this reason, Inca Town Council has promoted this initiative, joining other police forces that have already supported the area.

Finally, it should be noted that the help of personnel is still essential, especially in areas where the local police forces are very small and their agents have been working double shifts and rest days for almost a month, so they can no longer cope with the workload, as they are in a phase of reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructures. For this reason, they have asked other municipalities in Spain for help.
