The call published last July included a subsidy for trips to mainland Spain and now includes trips to Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

The Regional Ministry of Families and Social Affairs has modified the Resolution of 18 July 2024, which included grants for senior citizens living in Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera who need to travel to Mallorca for trips under the Tourism Programme of the Institute of the Elderly and Social Services (IMSERSO).

The call contemplated stopovers in Mallorca for trips to the mainland, and now, with the resolution published this February, it also covers return flights for residents of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera who have to make a mandatory stopover in Mallorca to participate in one of the trips included in the Tourism Programme in Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

The purpose of the call is that all elderly people living in the Balearic Islands enjoy quality leisure activities with equal opportunities, so that residents on the islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera do not represent a disadvantage when participating in programmes aimed at the development of cultural and recreational activities, contributing to the improvement of health and quality of life, the promotion of active ageing and the promotion of personal autonomy, as well as the prevention of dependence and the promotion of personal autonomy of the elderly.

The grant consists of a maximum amount of 150 euros per individual beneficiary or 200 euros if the beneficiary travels with an accompanying person.
