The Regional Ministry of Education and Universities today hosted the first meeting of the consultative commission envisaged in the draft Decree on the organisation of vocational training in the Balearic Islands, which is currently being processed. This commission aims to reach a consensus and optimise the new educational offer of vocational training in the Balearic Islands to adapt it to the needs of the labour market.

Education promotes the first consultative commission to reach a consensus and improve the range of vocational training courses on offer
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Confederation of Business Associations of the Balearic Islands (CAEB), the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of Mallorca (PIMEM) and the chambers of commerce of Mallorca, Eivissa and Formentera and Menorca, as well as representatives of the integrated vocational training centres (CIFP).
During the meeting, the director general of Vocational Training and Educational Organisation, Maria Isabel Salas, began talks with economic and educational agents to establish a joint road map and define the strategic lines of the new training offer. The main objective is to adapt vocational training to the needs of the different productive sectors.
This consultative commission will meet periodically and will become a key space for strengthening the connection between the education system and the business fabric. In this way, it will facilitate vocational training that is better adapted to the demands of the labour market in the Balearic Islands and will promote synergies of collaboration between the different agents involved.
