The Mallorcans Rafel Vilanova and Pablo Muñoz have received recognition in the audience hall of the Palau del Consell
The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, has received in the audience hall of the Palau del Consell the Spanish woodcock hunting champion, Rafel Vilanova, and the Spanish falconry champion in the low-flying modality with a goshawk, Pablo Muñoz. The event was also attended by the Minister for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the island’s Director of Hunting, Sebastià Perelló.

During the reception, Galmés presented them with a siurell and congratulated them on their success in the national competitions. He also stressed ‘the importance of maintaining and promoting these traditional disciplines, which form part of our island’s hunting and cultural heritage, as hunting is not only a tool for the sustainable management of the environment and the control of biodiversity, but also a practice that is passed down from generation to generation, keeping alive the customs and values of the Mallorcan rural world’. For his part, the Minister for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, reiterated the Consell de Mallorca’s commitment to the hunting sector.
