The Government expresses its concern to AENA about the health and safety of workers at Mallorca airport
Catalina Cabrer, regional secretary, explained: ‘We are very concerned. Health and safety at work are key for this government, which is why in the event of any complaint of this type, which could put the safety of workers at risk, we activate the protocol to find a solution as soon as possible through dialogue’.
He added: ‘We have urged AENA to take the necessary measures to hold a meeting with the health and safety committee and the prevention delegates to verify the safety systems and apply the necessary measures for the benefit of the airport’s workers.
In addition, the director of IBASSAL, Óscar Paz, recalled that Ibassal is working on occupational health and safety in companies: ‘during these winter months we are carrying out an accident campaign, and we are also making visits to companies to verify that they are complying with the Royal Decree that includes the obligation to protect workers in the event of episodes of extreme heat or high temperature alert’.
In this sense, Óscar Paz remarked: ‘Ibassal will pay special attention to the prevention of high temperatures at the airport. In fact, during the summer months we are launching an action campaign to ensure the health, prevention and well-being of workers in the face of high temperatures that can have negative effects on their health’.
