The Consell Insular earmarks 180,000 euros to carry out the works project for the new skatepark in Maó

This has been presented by the Consell Insular and the Maó Town Council, which have presented the remodelling and refurbishment project of the site to adapt it to the topography, taking advantage of the slopes to make the ramps and distributing the elements by zones so that all users can enjoy this space, both beginners and more experienced ones. In addition, the surrounding vegetation will be maintained and another access to the existing one will be built, which will also be renovated.

‘This refurbishment is part of a series of projects that the Youth Department of the Consell Insular wants to allocate to the island’s skateparks, starting today in Maó, but also later in Alaior and Sant Lluís. We are aware that skate sports are becoming increasingly popular among young people and adults in Menorca, which is why we wanted to contribute with this funding so that users have guarantees of safety and optimal conditions,’ said the councillor, Joan Pons Torres.

This is the first of three reform and refurbishment projects to improve urban spaces for skateboarding on the island, which will require an investment of 405,000 euros by the Consell Insular
