The Consell de Mallorca, together with the Govern de les Illes Balears and the Felanitx Town Hall, have defined the requirements to be met by the project to restore Es Sindicat de Felanitx, a set of conditions that will be presented to the European architecture competition Europan 18. This emblematic building, owned by the Consell de Mallorca, and its surroundings have been unanimously selected as one of the sites participating in the competition, following its presentation through the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture of the Govern de les Illes Balears.

To this end, the Minister of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, the Director General of Housing and Architecture of the Balearic Islands Government, José Francisco Reynés, and the Mayoress of Felanitx, Catalina Soler, held a working meeting to advance the project’s processing.

Built-in 1919, Es Sindicat de Felanitx was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the monument category in 2001.
In 2019, the Consell de Mallorca acquired the property, which forms part of the inventory of Spain’s industrial heritage as part of the National Plan for Industrial Heritage.
