Esporles and Banyalbufar undertake projects to improve the destination thanks to Next Generation EU Funds
Jaume Bauzà stressed the importance of giving visibility to these projects: ‘Thanks to European aid, the municipalities of the Balearic Islands have been able to develop different projects to improve the destination and make their towns a more sustainable and attractive place for both visitors and residents’.
The mayor of Esporles, Josep Ferrà, accompanied the government’s tourism officials on a visit to the new Visitor Centre, which will serve as a centre for observation and dissemination of the municipality. This space is located in the centre of the village, next to the town hall, in a building acquired by the Town Hall thanks to the subsidy received from the Next Generation Funds.
The town council has aimed to install the Visitors’ Centre and the ExpoEsporles exhibition space in the centre of the village to reach more visitors by promoting tourism and offering information to visitors who come to the village, creating a key place for the dissemination of the natural and cultural value of Esporles.
In Banyalbufar, the councillor for Heritage and Tourism, Joan Vives, showed the councillor Bauzà the state of the public paths in his municipality. Thanks to the Next Generation Funds, new signposting has been installed and these paths have been cleaned to make them safer and more attractive to those who use them. In this way, the municipality is committed to rural tourism, which attracts visitors from all over the world as well as residents of Banyalbufar and residents from all over the island of Mallorca.
The project presented by the town council consists of the installation of six totem-type information signs, the creation of 15 information pikes for the development of the route, the creation of 20 wooden and vinyl methacrylate table supports and the introduction of the information on the municipality’s tourism promotion website.
