The Department of Culture, Education, Youth and Sports of the Menorca Island Council presents the ninth edition of the recital ‘Vershivern, Poesia a redossa’, which on this occasion has a clearly defined Balearic Islands profile, as the six poets and two musicians who will accompany the evening have Balearic roots and souls.

To disseminate poetry among an audience that is not always a reader, but who likes to listen to the voice of the poets themselves and enjoy the recitals, Vershivern is moving to Es Migjorn Gran for the first time this year, specifically to the Saló Verd, where it will take place next Saturday, the 8th of March, at 8 pm, where the mark of the doctor and great Menorcan scholar, Francesc d’Albranca, will be present.

The ninth edition of the recital ‘Vershivern’ will be held for the first time in Es Migjorn Gran

On the other hand, Menorcans Sílvia Pons Seguí, Guillem Benejam and Carles Mercadal will teach how to say the most intimate and idiosyncratic verse. So will the Mallorcans Glòria Julià Estelrich and Miquel Àngel Mas, as well as the Ibizan resident in Mallorca, Llucia Serra. The poets will be accompanied by guitarists Eva Cardona and Andreu Menroca, who will accompany each verse.

Organised by the Department of Culture of the Consell Insular de Menorca, Vershivern has the collaboration of the town council of Migjorn Gran, which has provided space, resources and poetic shelter so that, for yet another year, the quintessential winter lyrical event in Menorca can become a reality: ‘Vershivern, Poesia a redossa’ (Vershivern, poetry in redemption).
