The government has fined the company that owns the area, located within the Ses Salines Natural Park, where the Loewe brand held a promotional event, 6,001 euros

The Directorate General for the Natural Environment and Forest Management became aware of the facts and opened a period of preliminary proceedings to determine whether or not to initiate a sanctioning procedure, which has finally resulted in a serious sanction for the company that owns the site. Specifically, the events took place on the esplanade of the small stone shed located in Sa Canal, within the Natural Park.

Thus, it is clear from the previous proceedings that the company that owned the venue rented the space to Loewe. In this sense, it was fully aware that this fashion firm wanted to organise a commercial and promotional event. It should be remembered that the event consisted of a dinner for about 100 people, accompanied by music and ending with a party with a disc jockey.

According to the Natural Park’s regulations, this activity is not authorised and is incompatible with the area, since the party was held in the open air and not indoors. Furthermore, the PRUG generally prohibits, within the Park, advertising and publicity campaigns based on visual and audiovisual elements that have an environmental impact. It also prohibits music and noise with a negative environmental impact. However, no damage to the environment has been corroborated and, therefore, this factor has not been applied as an aggravating factor in the sanction.
