A series of games and themed activities designed for different age groups will be held at these stands, which will explore different thematic areas such as waste separation, selective collection according to each municipality in Mallorca, the types of waste and the subsequent treatment of waste once it has been selectively collected.

The second vice-president and councillor for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, accompanied by the island’s director of Waste, Margalida Roig, visited the stand set up at the Fira del Fang in Marratxí this morning, where he stressed ‘the importance of instilling in society, especially in children, the importance of recycling to improve our environment and protect our seas and the island’s natural surroundings’.

Seven themed games and activities will be held at the stands.

The programme of the recycling stands includes a total of seven educational and fun activities, such as theatre workshops, gymkhanas and storytelling, which help to identify the colours of the recycling bins for the different types of waste.

The initiative will be present at popular fairs such as the Fira de la Sípia (Alcúdia), the Fira d’Oví i Caprí in Calvià, Dijous Gros in Inca, the Fira del Caragol in Sant Jordi, the Fira del Meló in Vilafranca, the Fira de Caça in Palma and the Fira Dolça in Esporles, among others.
