The Consell de Mallorca is promoting the Moda Artesana de Mallorca brand at the ITB tourism fair in Berlin. The vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councillor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, unveiled the new label on Tuesday to promote it among visitors and turn it into an attraction for responsible and sustainable tourism. Roca stressed, above all, that this initiative aims to promote the craft trades of fashion, recognise their value and guarantee the preservation of a heritage that has defined the cultural essence of the island for centuries.

The Consell de Mallorca promotes the brand Moda Artesana de Mallorca at the ITB in Berlin
The vice-president and councillor explained the importance of projecting this brand internationally: ‘Mallorca’s artisan fashion is much more than an economic sector; it is an expression of our identity and an example of mastery passed down from generation to generation. With this brand, we want to protect and promote our traditional crafts and, at the same time, claim them as a differential value in today’s fashion world.
For this reason, the Consell de Mallorca is already working with the island’s hoteliers and different associations in the sector to create synergies and give visibility to this new brand, which represents the tradition and authenticity of the island’s craftsmanship. The aim is for Moda Artesana de Mallorca to become an internationally recognised seal of quality and authenticity.
Roca explained that with the slogan ‘Vesteix Mallorca’, the brand invites both residents and visitors to wear garments that tell the story of the island, connecting the past with the present through artisan fashion.
To guarantee the quality and authenticity of this production, a Technical Commission has been set up, made up of experts in craftsmanship, fashion, communication and marketing, which has established the necessary criteria to obtain the Moda Artesana de Mallorca label. Among these requirements is the guarantee that at least 75% of the production process is carried out in Mallorca, including design and tailoring, as well as the need to have the Artisan’s Charter issued by the Consell de Mallorca.
This commitment to sustainability, tradition and local talent ensures that artisan trades, in danger of disappearing, once again occupy the place they deserve within the fashion industry. The products with this seal are aimed at a conscious tourism, which values the destination, respects the environment and appreciates our traditions, consolidating Moda Artesana de Mallorca as a key element for the differentiation and projection of the island in the international arena.
