The City Council of Inca and the Training Centre have celebrated the closing ceremony of the mixed project ‘Inca Tauló’, dedicated to the wood sector, developed last year in the framework of the SOIB Jove Formació i Ocupació programme. This project is financed by the SOIB with the participation of the State Public Employment Service SEPE and co-financed by the European Social Fund ESF+.

Closing of the mixed SOIB Jove Training and Employment project Inca Tauló
‘The training programmes aimed at strategic sectors such as wood are very beneficial because they provide companies with qualified personnel while contributing to improving employment in sectors with high demand,’ said the mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno.
For her part, the Councillor for Training and Employment, Maria Francisca Barceló, stresses that ‘we are very pleased with the good results we get with this type of programme, in which students learn by working and can put all the knowledge into practice. We aim to promote job placement among groups with greater difficulties in finding a quality job’.
Thus, thanks to this initiative, 11 student-workers have had the opportunity to participate in a one-year training plan, which has combined training and practical learning while doing actual work at the Town Hall. The project has allowed the improvement of different areas and services of the Town Hall of Inca, highlighting, for example, the project ‘hotels for insects’ to promote the increase of biodiversity in the municipality, and helping and working for many other areas of the Town Hall.
