The event will take place at the Galatzó public estate on 29th March, with the collaboration of the Tramuntana XXI Association and the Calvià Town Hall.

The Serra de Tramuntana Gastronomic Day ‘De la terra a la cuina’ has been presented, with which the Consell de Mallorca wants to promote the products with the Serra de Tramuntana Distinctive, accompanied by renowned chefs of the island.

The event will take place at the Galatzó public estate on Saturday 29th March to highlight and publicise the gastronomic culture and local products that already have the Serra de Tramuntana label. Several activities are scheduled throughout the morning: a produce fair; a guided tour of the Galatzó houses and the Esment Foundation’s vegetable garden to see the natural and ethnological heritage linked to agriculture; the screening of audiovisuals on agricultural production in the Serra de Tramuntana; and a traditional recipe contest in which attendees can participate with their proposals.

The presentation of the event was attended by the Councilor of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, the director of Serra de Tramuntana, Antoni Solivellas, the manager of the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium, Lluís Vallcaneras, and the president of Tramuntana XXI, Joe Holles.

For Fuster, this event represents ‘the definitive boost that the Consell de Mallorca wants to give to Serra de Tramuntana products; local products that convey the essence of a way of doing things, respectful of the environment and based on the effort and wisdom of our ancestors.

During the event, some of the most renowned Mallorcan chefs will be appointed ambassadors for the Serra de Tramuntana product, in recognition of their commitment to local culture and gastronomy, and with the aim of raising awareness of Serra de Tramuntana products and the importance of eating them.

The day will end with a popular meal organised by Tramuntana XXI, with traditional charcoal-burner rice, prepared by chef Cate Pons, winner of the best rice in Spain with this recipe from the Serra de Tramuntana in 2018. The meal has the support of Font Sorda and the Mortitx winery, both companies with the Serra de Tramuntana Distinctive.
