The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Government of the Balearic Islands has announced a significant increase in the budget allocation for subsidies for the promotion abroad of the intangible cultural heritage of the Balearic Islands, from 60,000 euros in 2024 to 100,000 euros in 2025, an increase of 66%. This economic effort reinforces the Government’s commitment to defending and promoting the culture of the Balearic Islands abroad.

The government increases the budget for the promotion of the intangible cultural heritage of the Balearic Islands by 66% to 100,000 euros
This line of aid aims to encourage the dissemination and promotion of intangible cultural heritage beyond the islands, supporting associations, foundations and private non-profit organisations that carry out activities in this field. Eligible modalities include:
The travel and stay of persons to carry out activities or live performances outside their island of residence.
Participation in fairs, festivals, popular and traditional markets, conferences, presentations, exhibitions, meetings, symposiums and congresses, with or without live performances.
Participation in training stays or cultural residencies related to the field of intangible cultural heritage.
Participation in competitions and auditions
The maximum amount that can be awarded per applicant organisation is 6,000 euros, with a maximum of three subsidised activities per organisation.
The eligibility period runs from 16 October 2024 to 30 September 2025, while the deadline for applications is 3 April 2025 and 31 July 2025. All applications must be submitted online.
In the 2024 call for applications, a total of 39 applications were submitted, of which 31 were favourably resolved, which demonstrates the interest in and need for this aid for the external projection of the intangible cultural heritage of the Balearic Islands.
With this budget increase, the Government of the Balearic Islands reaffirms its firm commitment to the protection, dissemination and promotion of its own culture, ensuring that its most representative manifestations can have a greater impact and recognition on a national and international scale.
