Councillor Pilar Amate visits the ProWein fair in Düsseldorf to reinforce support for the Mallorcan wine sector
The councillor for Economic Promotion highlighted ‘the importance of Mallorcan wineries being able to strengthen their commercial relations in the foreign market, presenting at the fair more than 60 wines of exceptional quality’, which stand out above all, said Amate, ‘for the differentiation of coming from a geographical area that gives them unique characteristics’.
The institutional presence in this 2025 edition, which is organised in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, ‘has allowed our wineries to showcase the excellent range of wines that our island can offer to the foreign market, a local product closely linked to our culture, tradition and gastronomy’, said Amate.
More than 60 references of the island’s PGI and DO wines
The councillor, Pilar Amate, met with the producers and companies present at the stand promoted by the Consell de Mallorca, showing the international market their wines with protected designations of origin and geographical indications, which guarantee the product’s origin and highlight its quality.
Specifically, eight wineries from the Vi de la Terra PGI are sharing the exhibition space: Mesquida Mora, Castell Miquel, Bodega Son Prim, Bodega 7103, Tianna Negre, Oliver Moragues, Macia Batle and Son Juliana; as well as two wineries from the Binissalem DO, Biniagual and José Luis Ferrer (Franja Roja).
Programme of visits and meetings
After meeting with the companies on the Consell de Mallorca stand, they visited the other Mallorcan companies taking part in the event: Can Axartell and Binigrau; they went to the DO Pla i Llevant stand, where the wineries of Miquel Gelabert and Miquel Oliver are present. They also visited the spirits pavilion, where they were welcomed by the CEO of the Túnel Group, Jordi Carré, from the Antonio Nadal distillery.
Amate’s presence at the trade fair served to hold a meeting at the Mallorca stand with the Spanish ambassador to Germany, Pascual Navarro, the economic advisor of the Spanish Embassy in Germany, Manuel Ledesma, and the Spanish Consul General in Düsseldorf, Juan Sunyè Mendía, which served to strengthen bilateral ties with the German country.
