For the first time this year, the talent of young researchers will be recognised. Like the rest of the organisations and professionals in the field, they can submit their candidatures from tomorrow until 15 May.

The Institut Mallorquí d’Afers Socials (IMAS) is already preparing the new edition of the Premis i Reconeixements Consell de Mallorca a l’Acció Social 2025. These awards recognise the transformative work of projects and initiatives developed in Mallorca that propose effective and real solutions to current social challenges. This year, for the first time, they will reward the positive impact of research or studies carried out by future professionals in the field that promote a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable society, creating a category exclusively for them.

The IMAS opens the call of the Premis Consell de Mallorca a l’Acció Social 2025 to recognise the work of projects related to social services

‘The Consell de Mallorca Social Action Awards are the only awards that recognise and highlight the great work of third-sector social organisations and professionals in the field to change and improve lives, and we believe that the new generations also need motivation, a prize for their commitment, their desire and drive to change the world,’ said the councillor for Social Welfare, Guillermo Sánchez.

Specifically, this edition will distribute a total of €48,000 in seven prizes distributed in five categories:

• €8,500 will go to a single prize for Social Innovation. Actions carried out up to 2024 that are innovative, encouraging new perspectives and transgressive methodologies, as well as their capacity for social cohesion, sustainability and ability to be carried out in other territories or situations of social need will be valued.
• Three awards of €7,325 for Social Value. This category recognises exemplary projects for their coherence and the impact of their results on social rights, quality of life, equal opportunities and the promotion and generation of social value.
• 7,325 € for the prize for the Best Awareness Campaign, for the publication, programme, information, awareness or training campaign, citizen action, information product, audiovisual, website or social network account that has managed to have an impact on citizens by conveying a positive image of social rights and citizen participation to address social needs and challenges.
• 9,000 € for the Pere Mascaró Award for studies and research that have contributed to the understanding of society and the resolution of social problems.

• 1,200 € to the best Master’s Thesis or Bachelor’s Thesis presented and evaluated by 2024 that has demonstrated academic excellence and originality in its research and that has involved a study of positive social impact.

The people or entities in the field of social services interested in presenting their candidacy can do so from tomorrow, 28th March, until 15th May, telematically through the Electronic Headquarters of the Consell de Mallorca.
