The councillor for Tourism holds a meeting with the mayors of the Llevant to analyse the tourism situation in the area

The meeting was held prior to the Tourism Governance and Sustainability Forum, which will be held this Friday at the Auditori Sa Màniga in Cala Millor, one of the island’s main tourist areas. This forum will be the first of many to be held throughout 2025 in different areas of Mallorca.
During the meeting, the Councillor for Tourism, who was accompanied by the island’s Director of Tourism for Governance and Sustainability, Pedro Mas, explained and explained to the municipal representatives the department’s strategies and objectives for the future, while the mayors presented their guidelines for the coming months.

Rodríguez, who was accompanied by all the island directors, expressed his intention to ‘promote a model of responsible tourism within our environmental and social limits’ and that ‘this is where tourism governance plays an important role, because it is essential to work in the destinations’. For this reason, he added, ‘the active participation of the community and the sector in decision-making on tourism is fundamental. And, therefore, the role of local councils is fundamental’.
Along these lines, Pedro Mas stressed that ‘collaboration with all the town councils has been active and constant throughout the legislature, to gain first-hand knowledge of the development of the activity in each territory and at each moment in time. We start from the conviction that they are different,’ he added.
