A total of 304 people have applied for aid from the Department of Enterprise, Employment and Energy aimed at the consolidated self-employed, a figure that represents an increase of 45% over last year’s applications. It should be noted that this grant offers up to 3,000 euros to consolidate and grow businesses so that the self-employed who have been in business for three years or more can improve their services and adapt to new trends. Once the deadline for applications for the aid has passed, the Directorate General for Enterprise, the Self-Employed and Trade estimates that up to 915,000 euros will be allocated to the subsidy.

More than three hundred people have applied for the government’s aid
The Minister for Enterprise, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, stressed that ‘we are extremely satisfied with the results of the call for applications, which demonstrates the commitment of this government to the self-employed in the Balearic Islands. This group is a driving force in the economy of the Islands that for a long time has not been treated with the importance it deserves.
This aid for self-employed people who have been in business for three years or more is structured into four programmes based on the fundamental pillars for consolidating a business: innovation and digitalisation; strategic and financial management; sustainability and social responsibility; and investments to improve competitiveness.
The aim is to strengthen the business fabric of the Balearic Islands through economic support aimed at financing the strategies of the self-employed, in this case, those over three years old, so that they can consolidate their business in the current reality.
It should be remembered that one of the new features of this year’s call for applications was the collaboration agreement signed by the Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, through the Directorate General for Enterprise, the Self-Employed and Trade, with the Official Association of Administrative Managers of the Balearic Islands with the aim of increasing the dissemination of the aid.
