Three Days of Official Mourning for the Passing of Pere Palau Torres

By the institution’s Organic Regulations, the Plenary Hall of the Consell has been made available to the family for the wake, should they wish to use it.

The president of the Consell, Vicent Marí, expressed his deep sorrow at the loss:

“Today is a sad day. We have received the news of the passing of the last president of the Consell of Ibiza and Formentera. It is a painful loss, especially due to the circumstances in which it occurred. Pere was a unique person, an excellent individual, and a tireless worker who gave his all for the people of Ibiza and, at the time, also for Formentera.
He served in all levels of public office: councillor in Sant Antoni, vice president and president of the Consell, and vice president of the Balearic Parliament. He was kind, decisive, always willing to help others, and in difficult moments, he knew how to step up, respond, and offer solutions. We will miss him dearly.”

On behalf of the entire council and staff of the Consell Insular of Ibiza, the institution extends its most heartfelt condolences for the loss of a beloved man who held his island close to his heart.

May he rest in peace.
