The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, inaugurates the meetings organised by the Sindicatura de Comptes, that count with the participation of the Court of Audit

The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, has inaugurated this Tuesday the meetings that take place on the 14th and 15th of April 2025, with the aim of making the local entities aware of the importance of rendering accounts and of what the accounting responsibility means. The island institution provides legal, economic and technical assistance to municipalities that require it.

In his speech, Galmés stressed that “we are living in a time in which citizens are demanding more transparency, more efficiency and more accountability. It is not just a question of complying with the law, but of improving our management as public servants. Every euro invested must be carefully managed and we must be accountable and do so with total transparency.

The president of the Consell stressed that the conference is a good opportunity to share best practices, discuss new tools and strengthen collaboration between the various administrations.

On the other hand, Galmés assured that “during this legislature, we are reinforcing transparency in managing our resources. We have added new content to our Transparency portal, where we are publishing more and more details of our work; for example, with the quarterly publication of the credit modifications of the budgets, the liquidations or the quarterly reports of budgetary stability”.

The President of the Consell de Mallorca also highlighted the work of the Service of Economic and Financial Assistance to the municipalities, which has advised a dozen municipalities that have required help to check budget liquidation, make accounting closures, or draw up budgets in the last half-year.
