This is an unprecedented number in the history of the unified process organised by the EBAP.

A total of 871 applicants, an unprecedented number in the history of the unified process to fill Local Police posts on the islands, have been admitted to take part in the tests organised by the Government of the Balearic Islands, through the Balearic School of Public Administration (EBAP). In the current edition of the unified process, a total of 211 places are offered in 12 municipalities, an equally historic figure since it represents 122% more than the call of the year 2024. The resolution was published today in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands.

It should be noted that of the 871 people admitted to the first test, which will be a multiple-choice test and will be held on the 3 islands on 3 May, this represents an increase of 55% compared to the number of applicants last year (562). It should also be noted that the number of female candidates this year, 220, of which 200 are from Mallorca, 8 from Menorca and 12 from Ibiza, represents 25% of the total number of candidates called. Of these 871 applicants, 783 are from Mallorca, 43 from Menorca and 45 from Ibiza.

871 applicants were admitted to fill the 211 Local Police posts advertised by the government in 12 municipalities on the islands

This call consists of a selective procedure to fill career civil servant positions for the category of Local Police in the municipalities of Capdepera, Llucmajor, Muro, Palma, Porreres, Sa Pobla, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Santanyí and Sóller, on the island of Mallorca; Ciutadella and Maó, on the island of Menorca, and Santa Eulària des Riu, on Ibiza.

The selection procedure for access to the category of Local Police consists of two phases, divided into a competitive examination and an internship. The competitive examination phase consists of a physical aptitude test, two knowledge tests, a psychological test and a personality test. The exercises in this competition phase will take place between May and July.

Once these tests have been passed and a place has been allocated to one of the participating municipalities according to the marks obtained in the knowledge tests, the municipalities will have to appoint the candidates as trainee civil servants.

During this internship phase, the candidates who have passed the competitive examination phase will have to take the Basic Training Course, which lasts 800 hours and is given by the EBAP, and the internship in the municipalities of destination, which lasts six months.

The selection process ends when the traineeship period has been completed. The status of trainee civil servant has to be maintained until the appointment as a career civil servant, if applicable, or until the candidate is qualified as unsuitable.
