The Consell Insular de Menorca met this Wednesday, April 9, with the Executive Committee of the IGA International, led by Andrew Inkster, president of the organisation, to discuss and finalise the candidacy of the island of Menorca to host the Island Games in 2033.

The president of the Consell Insular meets with the Executive Committee of the IGA International to finalise the island’s candidacy to host the Island Games in 2033
Representing the Consell Insular de Menorca were the president of the administration, Adolfo Vilafranca, and the island’s Director of Sports, Rafel Quintana. Antonio Olives, president of the IGA Menorca, together with the vice-president, Carole Toomey, the legal advisor, Emilio Orfila, the treasurer Jose Luis Sastre and the coordinators, Lorena Orfila and José Maria Vidal, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the history of Menorca in the Island Games since its incorporation in 2005 was reviewed, the objectives and vision of the island as host of the Games were explained and the benefits for the island in terms of tourism, economy and sports, as well as the possible investments in infrastructures, were made known.
