Ports de les Illes Balears (Portsib) has approved the offer of conditions for the granting of an administrative concession to the Town Council of Andratx to renovate the sewage network of Port Andratx.

The project includes the replacement of the impulsion section between the current pumping station (EBAR) of the Moll Vell and the future main EBAR. This action is part of the collaboration agreement between ABAQUA and the Town Council of Andratx, and aims to improve the sanitation and purification system of the municipality.

The Ports de les Illes Balears approves the concession to renovate the sewage network of Port Andratx

Portsib has issued a technical report in favour of the proposal, considering that the works do not negatively affect port operations and that the current state of the infrastructure fully justifies its renovation. Furthermore, by current regulations, the concession has been processed by direct award, given that the City Council is a public administration.

The works will take 14 months to complete and will be carried out by the approved project, guaranteeing compatibility with port uses and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

With this action, Portsib reinforces its commitment to the improvement and modernisation of the infrastructures of the ports it manages, and facilitates collaboration with local administrations to move towards a more efficient, sustainable and coordinated management of the port territory.
