Tourism Minister highlights the synergy between sport and tourism as a way to showcase the island’s best image to the world
The countdown to the iconic Mallorca 312 OK Mobility cycling tour officially began this Friday with its opening ceremony held at Playa de Muro, where the race will start tomorrow with over 8,000 registered cyclists.
The inauguration was graced by legendary cycling figures such as Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador, Alejandro Valverde, Sean Kelly, Joseba Beloki, Pedro Horrillo, Maurizio Fondriest, Haimar Zubeldia, and Miquel Alzamora, co-founder of the event. Also present were Mallorca 312 CEO Xisco Lliteras and several high-ranking institutional representatives.
He also noted that the Balearic Government is strongly backing the race with a financial contribution exceeding €155,000 for the 2025 edition, as part of its commitment to internationally renowned sporting events.
Now in its 15th edition, Mallorca 312 continues to offer its three classic routes (312 km, 225 km, and 167 km), crossing some of the island’s most stunning landscapes, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site Serra de Tramuntana. The starting gun will sound tomorrow, Saturday, at 6:30 AM from Playa de Muro.

Mallorca 312: Road Closures Scheduled for Saturday, April 26
This Saturday, April 26, 2025, Mallorca will host a new edition of the Mallorca 312, the iconic cycling tour that draws thousands of participants. As in previous years, the event will lead to significant road closures across more than 30 municipalities, especially in the northern, western, and central areas of the island.
Now celebrating its 15th edition, the event will involve temporary road closures, detours, and alternative routes for residents. Additionally, according to Transports de les Illes Balears (TIB), 27 bus lines will experience service disruptions, including full or partial cancellations, major delays, and relocated stops in several key towns along the route.

Northern Zone and Serra de Tramuntana
- Platja de Muro – Pollença: closed from 6:00 to 7:45 AM
- Pollença – Lluc (gas station): 6:10 to 8:40 AM
- Lluc – Sóller: 6:30 to 9:50 AM
- Sóller – Valldemossa: 8:10 to 10:55 AM
- Valldemossa – Andratx: 8:45 to 12:45 PM (towards Sóller closed from 7:40 AM)
Western Zone and Serra de Tramuntana
- Andratx – Puigpunyent – Esporles: 10:00 AM to 2:10 PM
- Esporles – Santa Maria: 9:15 AM to 3:00 PM
Central and Northeastern Zone
- Santa Maria – Campanet: 9:30 AM to 4:15 PM
- Campanet – Platja de Muro: 10:30 AM to 5:05 PM
