The Balearic Government has authorised the transfer of €1,298,533.17 to the Balearic Agency for Digitalisation, Cybersecurity, and Telecommunications (IB Digital) to fund the launch of digital radio broadcasting (DAB+) services in the Balearic Islands.
This investment will allow the implementation of the first broadcasting stations for digital radio in the region, marking the beginning of the introduction and development of digital audio broadcasting (DAB+) across the islands during 2025.

1.3 Million Transferred to IB Digital to Launch Digital Radio
The Consell de Govern approved the prior authorisation for the Minister of Economy, Finance and Innovation to exercise spending powers related to the multi-annual current transfer in favour of IB Digital. This funding will support the execution of contract file IB Digital 06/2025, which includes both DAB+ broadcasting services and auxiliary network services for the MF-BAL network.
The rollout of digital radio represents a strategic technological advancement for the Balearic Islands, enhancing the quality and coverage of radio services and aligning with European trends in digital broadcasting.
