The Balearic Islands Agricultural and Fisheries Guarantee Fund (FOGAIBA), under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, has made a new payment of €5.51 million to the primary sector of the Balearic Islands during April. So far, the Balearic Government has paid out a total of €31.38 million from the 2024 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), representing a 25% increase compared to the same period in the previous campaign.
Regional Minister Joan Simonet emphasised that, “with this payment, we have practically reached 90% of the planned amount. Regulations stipulate that, from December 1, the balance of aid may begin to be paid and that all payments must be completed by June 30. However, until the national level confirms the final total, a 10% margin must be reserved. The Ministry is expected to lift this restriction in May, allowing us to reach 100%.”
